Located in the central Serengeti prime game viewing area, on the lower slopes of Makoma Hill, only 29kms southwest of Seronera airstrip, Serengeti Kuhama Camp offers guests the opportunity to explore many parts of the Serengeti – to the north, west, east, and in the Moru kopjes. The Serengeti Kuhama Camp has a total of 10 guest tents all with views of the Serengeti savannah. Accommodation is provided in spacious walk-in tents which can accommodate three beds (triple), and are furnished with beds made of fine tropical wood, bedside tables, mattresses, blankets, bed sheets and pillows, and all have a wooden floor. Each guest tent has a verandah with two safari chairs and a safari table allowing you to relax with a book, or just enjoy the different scents, sights and sounds around you.
The en-suite wash room facilities are set on the far end of the guest tent, offering a hand washbasin, a safari bucket shower and flush toilet. This is an eco-friendly camp fully powered by solar energy.
The mess tent is spacious and well ventilated, with dining tables, chairs, cutlery, crockery, table cloth and other facilities offered in a standard restaurant. On one side of the mess tent there is a small cozy lounge where guest can charge their electronic devices. The camp serves three freshly cooked meals a day – breakfast, lunch and dinner of which lunch and dinner are a 3-course meal.
Evenings are invariably a social gathering around a crackling campfire in a serene and quiet surrounding interrupted by occasional distant calls of wildlife.

Good food and heartwarming friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. There are even some board games that you can use in a communal tent. The tents have toilet and water, which is heated by the fire on request.
Nicolas P14. August, 2024.Small camp in the bush that takes you to heart We loved this small camp of 10 tents in the middle of the bush with a charming team and excellent food service. Tents certainly a little rustic but with all comfort. And what about showers with hot and cold water mixed when the time comes for the team with a smile. Not to mention the aperitifs around a campfire with animals not far away. It must be said that we are in the middle of nowhere with nocturnal visitors buffaloes, antelope, sometimes lions or even leopards (do not go out unaccompanied of course...). In short, unforgettable moments!
Adri99219. July, 2024.Starry Night in the Serengeti We stayed at Karibu Kuhama Camp on the second night of our safari in Zanzibar. For us it was the best evening spent on this safari; the camp was very organized and the welcome of the people who work there very very warm, we felt really pampered in the middle of the savanah. Of course, being a tented camp these are tents, very large and comfortable equipped with bed, wardrobe, bedside tables and en suite bathroom! As soon as we arrived we could comfortably wash ourselves with warm water that they prepare specially thanks to solar panels and then we had dinner in the catering tent the typical dishes of the place: the menu presented was very rich in both vegetables and meat and lake fish (Tilapia, delicious). Drinks and food we absolutely did not miss, they cooked a lot for us. During the night we were lucky enough to hear lions, hyenas and buffaloes that “walked” quietly among the tents without bothering, in any case the camp has a Maasai boy who protects guests in case of attacks. The next morning a curious hyena admired us from afar while we had our breakfast and we could admire the Dawn in the beautiful Serengeti park. Thanks to all the guys in the camp!! We stayed at Karibu Kuhama Camp on the second night of our Zanzibar safari. As soon as we arrived we were able to wash ourselves comfortably with warm water which they specially prepare thanks to the solar panels and then we had dinner in the catering tent with typical local dishes: the menu presented was very rich in both vegetables, meat and lake fish (the Tilapia, very good). We absolutely did not miss drinks and food, they cooked a lot for us. April, 2024.Comfortable tent accommodation in a unique natural landscape We spent three nights here in March 2024 in the immediate vicinity of hyenas and the roar of lions from a medium distance. Unforgettable and breathtaking! The living tents are as comfortable as possible, with a "real" bed as well as a private bathroom and separate toilet. Hot water is prepared when required and made available as a shower with a lead time of around 30 minutes (not at the sink). After dark, it is obligatory to be accompanied by a Masai when moving around the complex. Breakfast, lunch box and dinner are varied, plentiful and of high quality. The friendliness of the staff and cleanliness leave nothing to be desired. Drink prices are reasonable given the complex logistics in the middle of the savannah.

After a few kilometers in a 4*4 you will see some tents integrated into the savannah, no classic installations visible (for authenticity we are served) there the staff and a Massai warrior welcome you. Very warm welcome. After a few meters you discover a splendid landscape. No barriers between you and nature. On arrival we discover the very elegant restaurant tent with wooden floor and the lounge and reception tent; our tent is very comfortable and spacious with all the necessary amenities. All meals are delicious, varied with impeccable presentation. In the evening aperitif around a campfire. The nights are lulled by the cries of animals and their presence. The staff is very kind. It’s a truly calming place. This place has so much more to us that we would like to introduce it to our children. Out of Africa
Birillo28. October, 2023.UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE We stayed on the 2nd day of the safari in this unfenced tented camp in the middle of the savannah in the Serengeti park. I believe that an experience like this is unforgettable as well as beautiful. Coming out of the tent in the evening with the Masai illuminating the head of a lioness at 20 meters is unique. Then spending the whole night hearing the roar of this animal roaming between the tents made me finally feel like I was in Africa. Very good dinner and buffet breakfast (I also found Nutella!). I would happily stay here again

This lodge, although located in the center of the savannah, had comforts that are sometimes missing in structures in the center of renowned tourist cities. Super welcome, right away you are at home, excellent food, the best of the whole safari week. Sleeping in the middle of the Serengeti can initially be a little scary, but the sounds of the animals that approach the tents at night make this experience absolutely fantastic. On the morning of departure, a pair of lionesses wanted to say goodbye by coming to water right near the tents. Thanks to all the staff. ABSOLUTELY recommended and tried

The tents are real, very welcoming houses, spacious, clean and each with its own bathroom. The hospitality and friendliness of the staff immediately stands out, making you feel at home and safe is their goal and I can confirm that they fully achieve it. A kindness that is now rare is found!! I would recommend it as a once in a lifetime experience to everyone!!

If at the beginning the idea of sleeping in a tent practically immersed in the Savannah scared us a little, now we can say that it was a memorable experience during which we literally felt at home, protected and without any fear. The atmosphere of familiarity and welcome that can be felt at the camp is unique. Must try at least once in your life. The tents are spacious, equipped with every comfort: large and comfortable beds, hot water, electricity, bathroom kit. The food?! It was probably the place where we ate best during the whole week on Safari. Incredible! We don't know how to thank you for making our honeymoon so unforgettable.
